Lily of the valley bouquet

April 4, 2011

Lily of the valley is the ultimate wedding flower – delicate, timeless and with a nostalgic fragrance that reminds me of my grandma’s garden. The only downer is that it’s really expensive – a small posy made solely from the flower can cost upwards of £200. The answer is to use it sparingly and perhaps only in your bouquet – that way, the scent will be with you all day. When I got married, my florist suggested combining lily of the valley with other delicate, fragrant blooms such as stephanotis, jasmine and ornithogalum. At £80, it was still expensive but well worth it. The fragrance is unbelievable.

  1. My most fav spring flower, but sadly it is so expensive to use-I planted some in my garden last year and they seem to be coming up now…fingers crossed I get a nice little crop to use 🙂
